$125.00

Five (5) rare 10” x 15” copies of ukiyo-e woodblock prints after Ando Hiroshige from his series Tokaido Gojusan (Fifty Three Stations of the Tokaido), originally published between 1831 to 1834 by Takenouchi Magohachi.

Circa; 1920’s–30’s.

About: Arguably some of Hiroshige’s best images and certainly including some of his best known works this series was a popular success and several reprinted series were issued by the publisher, even during Hiroshige’s own lifetime (although without his permission which, under Japanese copyright laws prevailing at the time, was not necessary) as well as over subsequent years.

Condition Report: Fair condition with wear and tear on the edges. These prints have been rolled up for many years therefore pictures were taking with the prints pressed under glass.
